We have an immediate opportunity for a mid-level Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Environmental Team in Northern IL/Southern WI. This position will provide planning, design, and construction phase services for municipal infrastructure projects in the area.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs design tasks including computations, analysis and modeling for sanitary and storm sewer systems, water systems, and local road and drainage improvement projects.
- Assists with the preparation of reports, construction plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications.
- Provides construction observation services on roadway, water, sewer, and drainage improvement projects.
- Interprets construction plans and documents, computes quantities and verifies measurements and layouts.
- Maintains project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, and project files.
- Interacts with the client/owner and public officials to respond to inquiries and resolve problems.
Position Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and EIT is required. PE is desired.
- 5+ years of experience with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure (roads, trails water, sewer, and stormwater) is required.
- Ability to follow through on tasks to completion, research and recommend solutions, collaborate with other team members, and delegate tasks to Jr. staff.
- Ability to understand and interpret local building/zoning codes and review plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to draft correspondence, reports and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
- Experience with drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
