Clark Dietz provides Civil, Environmental, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering services out of our Wausau office located in North Central Wisconsin.

We currently have an opportunity for a civil engineer to join our municipal engineering team as a Project Manager based in our Wausau, WI office. The selected candidate will manage civil engineering projects and oversee planning, design, and construction services for clients throughout North Central Wisconsin.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identifies and pursues projects and develops relationships with existing clients and prospects.
• Develops project approach, schedule, and budget; negotiates scope, fee, and contract amendments with the client.
• Assists clients with identifying and applying for funding and obtaining necessary local, state, and federal permits.
• Develop high-level design criteria and project work plan (PWP).
• Leads the project team and coordinates/manages tasks with other engineers, designers, and construction staff.
• Conduct project team coordination meetings and serve as the point of contact for the client on all project-related matters; ensure QA/AC processes are implemented.
• Accountable for project performance and project deliverables; manages scope creep and takes corrective action as needed.

Position Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and WI PE license are required.
• Experience as a civil engineer with a focus on municipal engineering preferred but not required.
• Experience with the planning, design and construction of local roads, water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage projects.
• Experience with project management functions including project scoping, schedule, budget development, and QA/QC preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop client relationships, market new business, make public presentations, and write technical reports.
• Knowledgeable with civil/environmental design and modeling tools including one or more of the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, ORD, Arc GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, XP-SWMM.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client and project sites as needed.
